Roe Buck are loosing their velvet

Roe Buck in Glenlivet and the Cairngorms are just starting to lose their velvet

This buck, caught on camera this morning, has just lost his velvet. You can see that his antlers are still pink with the remains of the covering still present at the base of his antlers. The pink colouring will be lost very quickly over the next hours and days as he rubs off the remains of the velvet on small shrubs and trees.
