Self Catering Wildlife Holidays in the Cairngorms National Park

Many wildlife enthusiasts prefer to watch wildlife at their own pace rather than as part of a group. It gives an opportunity to get more involved with the unique behaviour of birds and mammals in the wild.

Self catering accommodation gives the flexibility to come and go as you please. But finding wildlife in an unfamiliar place can be challenging given limited time.

Our wildlife holidays combine the flexibility of self catering accommodation with the advantages of having local knowledge and expertise on hand to make the best use of your stay with us.

Email us here and let us help you plan your perfect wildlife holiday in the Cairngorms National Park and by the Moray Firth.

If you can find time to tear yourself away from Glenlivet you will find it an ideal base from which to explore other wildlife hotspots in north eastern Scotland. Our guide recommends some classic day excursions including:

  • We recommend one of our off road land rover safaris on the Glenlivet Estate as an introduction to the rich wildlife of the Cairngorms.
  • We can take you to witness special events of the wildlife year such as the Black Grouse Lek and Red Deer Rut when in season.
  • Our printed wildlife guides provide all the information that you need to explore The Glenlivet Crown Estate, The Cairngorms, Strathspey and The Moray Coast in your own time.
  • Our guided walks enable you to discover the natural highlights of our sheltered straths, pine forests and moorlands during every season.
  • Our local wildlife knowledge and expertise is on hand and available to you on a personal basis throughout your stay at Easter Corrie.

Seal on the Moray Firth

Dolphins and Seals on the Moray Firth

Just a short distance from Glenlivet, the Moray Firth is home to the largest and most northerly group of bottlenosed dolphins in the UK. Cruises are available on the Firth that can give close up views and the chance of seeing whales and seals. Gannets, Shags, Razorbills and Puffins are found in large numbers on Troup Head near MacDuff. Many other sea birds can be seen as at several other places along the Moray coast.
